7 | Thy Will Be Done: God's Will When We Are Unwilling

Palm Sunday was not a day of glory or triumph for Jesus. It was a day of lament, and a day for weeping. From the Gospel of Luke, “When he drew near and saw the city, he wept over it.” Why does he weep? He weeps for the people who have rejected God’s will. He weeps for lost people, but He considers His work on the cross to be joy because it reconciles us to him. He gathers each one of us individually, and all of us together. We have Him and we have each other.
